special things, but some animals can’t do certain things.
Dogs can run fast and jump high. They can swim in water and can bark loudly.
But dogs can’t fly. Dogs are very friendly and like to play with people.
Birds can fly in the sky. They can sing beautiful songs, and some birds can
swim too. But birds can’t run very fast. Birds build nests in trees and lay eggs.
Fish can swim very well in water. They can breathe underwater with their gills.
But fish can’t walk or fly. Fish live in rivers, lakes, and oceans.
Elephants can walk slowly but they are very strong. Elephants can use their
trunks to pick up food and drink water. But elephants can’t jump or run fast like
other animals.
Rabbits can hop quickly on their strong back legs. They can dig holes in the
ground to live in. But rabbits can’t fly or swim well. Rabbits eat vegetables and
like to be in quiet places.
Some animals are very different. For example, cats can climb trees and catch
mice, but they can’t fly or swim well. Horses can run very fast and jump, but
they can’t fly or swim.
